When is your DC last nap of the day?

I am reading Dr Ferber's book and he says no naps past 4 pm. Well DD is exhausted and cranky if she doesn't nap around 4-5 pm. She seems fine to go to sleep at 8-830. If all is going well with the last nap does it really matter?

We are still working on this, because DS isn't a huge fan of schedule.  DS woke up from a 2.5 hour nap, and is already cranky and wants to go to sleep.  Bedtime is usually at 7:30, and we still have an hour to go.  At this point, we'll probably start the bedtime routine a half hour early tonight, because he is so ready.  I try not to let him go down for a nap after 5:30, otherwise when he goes to bed at 7:30, he'll only sleep for an hour or two.

DS takes his catnap anywhere between 3-5pm....he is usually in bed by 6/6:30. ?He needs that catnap otherwise the night is horrible!

DS takes a nap from about 6:30 to 7:15 and then does back down at about 8:45. I say if it works don't mess with it. Besides, overtired babies are almost IMPOSSIBLE to get to sleep.

DD takes her last catnap between 6:30 and 8 then she goes down for the night between 9 and 10. Seems to work pretty good for us.

I try to have DS take his last nap between 5 - 8.  He'll usually wake up sometime between 8-10 and then we'll put him to bed after 9.
