so my daughter is alittle over 4 months. we had her swaddled to about 4 nights ago and then am transitioning her to the sleep sack. the last 4 nights, she has been getting up every 1/2 hour to 1 hour rolling from her back to her stomach all night. she then begins to cry with her eyes closed- she never opens them- till we roll her back- her leg usually gets caught in the crib opening. we then roll her to her back and put the pacifier in and do this again every half hour or so. i dont think this is a 4 month wake period since she is crying in her sleep but don't know if there is anything to do about it or if this is heard of and how long it lasted. thanks. ps- when she naps in basinet this doesn't happen ( as well as when she was swaddled) b/c there is no room to roll but i really want to start using her crib for all naps and night sleeping.

Re: 4 month and sleep issues
I use the Ferber method and started just before 3 months because we had serious issues. Yes, controversial, whatever.
Anywho, his book says if there are issues at 3 months, start making changes....4 months, make serious changes (use his method).
We have used his method and she sleeps a healthy amount now. I do not go for total sleep perfection. She still wakes once a night now to eat (she elimiated 2nd feeding on her own) and she takes short naps. Goal: sleep. Success!
CameraPerson,
Did you use the Ferber Method each time your LO was going to sleep? Or did you just do bedtime? We are trying to do the Ferber Method, but I am always afraid something else is wrong. I know it is controversial on here, but I would really like to hear exactly what you did and how it has worked for you.
Thanks!
What happens if you just leave her to fuss a little? ?I'm not talking an hour here, but if she's just crying in her sleep then she's not really waking - maybe flipping her is just disturbing her when she wants to be on her tummy? ?When babies can flip on their own, it's ok to leave them - always put a baby on his/her back, but if she is flipping on her tummy by herself I would leave her for a few minutes and see if she can settle back down on her own (don't put paci back in either) you will just teach her that every time she cries or wakes slightly, she needs the paci to go back to sleep and you will have to keep going to her....
