do you wash baby clothes separately from your clothes? and do you use special detergent? I want to start getting ready for baby and i am getting mixed advice on this stuff... what's the deal? thanks
we bought Dreft, and will go to Free and Clear something for the next time i have to buy something for her. Dreft is super expensive, but smells so nice lol.
Yes, we wash it separate. We use "All Baby" which is great. I tried Dreft but the scent made me want to vomit! Also, All and Tide (and other brands) make "Free and Clear" detergents which means no scents, no dye which is great for sensitive baby skin. I like the All for Baby because it's a soft scent. Also, no dryer sheets when you dry the baby clothes, hence why it's separate from the grown up clothes.

We use Tide Free & Clear (or whatever it is that comes in the white box). Like a PP said, I tried Dreft on a load of baby stuff while I was still pregnant, and couldn't deal with the smell.
Unlike PPs, though, we just wash everything together. Usually, DS has tons more laundry than we do, but his stuff is so little that we use it to fill up a smaller load of our stuff.
I wash separately because I do his stuff on delicate - sometimes I through in some of my delicates with his things. I use Nellie's Natural Laundry Soda.
I wash DS clothes seperately from ours because I wash his clothes more often and I use Dreft, it doesn't smell like anything to me. I also use All free and clear.
I wash all his stuff in Dreft (we got tons of samples, like 4 boxes) and anything else he uses (our sheets, couch blankets). For our laundry I use whatever is on sale!
Re: washing baby clothes
We use tide free and clear on all our clothes and DS's. I wash his clothes separately but only because I do his laundry more often than ours.
exactly what I do, too.
