. . .There was this woman at yoga class the other day with her baby that looked around 2 months old, and she still looked 100% pg. I have never seen anything like it. Her belly was totally firm and round still, and you could see her popped out belly button through her shirt. I would have sworn she was at least 6 months along except that with a two month old that would be impossible. The teacher actually made the mistake of telling her not to do one of the exercises because she was pg.
If wearing a girdle would prevent that it might be worth it--plus, isn't it kind of just like control top panty hose?
Re: Speaking of binding. . .
There were a lot of other women there with babies or similar age and they just looked a little squishy around the middle, and there were a couple who seemed like they were already totally flat-stomached. It was just this one lady. It was really strange.
::sigh:: I can relate (if you can't tell from my previous post). I went to get my nails done 3 months after DS was born. The girl asked me when I was due. I had to tell her that I'd already HAD the baby.THAT was more painful than any girdle could be.
I wish I had "belly" pics to show you- you wouldn't believe it! But, of course I was too ashamed to take any!

Really? This is making me think twice about the whole girdle thing. . .I imagine that would not be so good for the self-esteem.
Yes, really! I don't know that I looked 6 months along but I looked pregnant. The day after DS was born, DH innocently asked me why I still looked 5 months pg. I was calm and said it takes a "couple days" for your uterus to shrink back down even though the baby is out. Ha. I had no idea.
I hate sounding vain like my post pregancy body was the biggest tragedy ever. But seriously- a few extra pounds is one thing. Still looking pregnant is another.
Not saying this happens to everyone. It obviously doesn't! But my perspective is different since it did happen to me.

did you breastfeed after you delivered? i've heard that helps shrink the uterus up by naturally contracting the uterus during let down/feeding
How long did it take for things to go back to normal?
And don't worry about sounding vain, its easy for people to judge when they don't know. Honestly, there is so much going on post-partum and enough adjustments that I can see how that would be really tough!
