2nd Trimester

i need sleep

this is now the 5th night in a row that sleep (longer than periods of 2 hours) has eluded me!

I can't stay asleep.  To turn over, I actually have to sit up somewhat, shift, rearrange the pillows inbetween my knees, move my shoulders around so there is less pressure on my chest, then...try not to think about how late it is, or how tired I am!

I think that I am starting to hallucinate...Pizza this is part of my problem, or this Cake...mmmm...cake!

I am going to look at some body pillows today I think.  Maybe after a nap?

I love being pregnant and looking pregnant, but these nights are really starting to get to me.

Re: i need sleep

  • I had horrible insomnia with my 1st pregnancy and now with this one as well.  But I have to say that it is much, much worse because I have a two year old on top of it :(

  • I've been having a hard time with sleep, too. Between the vivid dreams, waking up to pee, and being uncomfortable sleeping on my sides, it feels like it is next to impossible to sleep contently. If you are using a regular pillow between your legs, I would suggest looking at one of those wedge shaped pregnancy pillows. You can position it between your knees and turn over more easily with out having to readjust the pillow. You can also put it under your belly as a support towards the end of your pregnancy.

I hope you find some relief. I just have to figure this is nature's way of preparing us for being up for all those 2 AM feedings when baby comes!
