I am so lost about what to register for! There are so many things that BRU throws at you, and I don't even have any idea about what we will really need. ACK!!! What do I do?? lol
I printed off the list from BRU and took it to a friends house who already has 2 kids and asked her what she thought I would need soon and what to register for. Then we just crossed off everything I didn't need.
I would hold off on clothes because so many people are going to buy you clothes regardless.
Bottles (and necessary accessories depending on what kind of bottles you get)
Pacifiers
Diapers
Wipes
Diaper Bag
PNP
Nursery furniture (unless buying yourself and mattress if you are putting crib on registry)
Travel system (or separate stroller and carseat)
Receiving blankets-LOTS!! (I find these work better than burp cloths)
Grooming kit (and first aid kit if you'd like-mine in the car is a lifesaver)
Boppy pillow (and cases)
Nursing supplies (unless you want to buy that yourself)
Breastpump (unless that is a personal item you want to buy)
Washcloths
Bouncer/swing (whichever you prefer. Personally the swing was a lifesaver for me)
Tummy mat/gym play mat
Teething toys (not that many but you would be surprised how early they start)
Bibs
Bathtub
Monitor
Blankets
Baby carrier (if planning on using one)
Bath supplies (soap, lotion, shampoo, etc.)
Diaper rash cream
Extra bulbs/syringes
Gas relief (gripe water works wonders or mylicon drops)
That's what I can mostly think I used and will use again. There are other things as you see them that you will want and that people will suggest. That's the joy of being able to alter your registry whenever, but at least you can start it.
HTH
Edit: Oh and a bottle warmer (this depends on whether you are BF or will be freezing milk, etc.)
Their list is a good starting point but yea, I agree with Miss Britt, you should get a friend whose alraedy a mom to help. I was told, don't register for a diaper genie b/c you want to throw them out right away so just stick a trash can outside the house door or in the garage. Also no to the baby wipes warmer, she barley changed the baby in the nursery so she was never even around it

Plus, when you get to the second half of the wipes...they already dried out from being in there so long. It was such a waste.
