Ever since I had mastitis, my left side is producing less. I've tried starting on that side for each feeding, but it really seems to frustrate DD and she kinda just gives up.
Is there a way to help stimulate milk production on just the one side? Would pumping help? My nipples are super sensitive, so I'm hoping there might be some other way....
Thanks!
Re: BFing moms: supply question
I don't know of a way other than feeding her as much as possible on that side (or pumping). ?I had the same problem without mastitis-- just one side that produced less-- and I ended up just feeding him mostly from one side. ?Once there was an imbalance, he preferred the one side, which only made more of a difference in the supply. ?Hopefully someone else has a better suggestion.?
I love the picture of you with your brother. ?My sister came back from Iraq last summer and is going to Afghanistan just a few weeks before I'm due with this baby.?
I'm in the same boat-she prefers the right side now. I hope I can fix it!
I'm sorry your sister has to go back over there. My brother's unit is due to head to Afghanistan in August, but it looks like he might not have to go with. I'll say some prayers for your sister's safety. It's so scary over there.
Creating more of a demand is pretty much the only thing. Either start her on that side or pump.
are you eating oatmeal every day? That really helps.
