Babies: 0 - 3 Months

s/o Letter from Doctor

It got me thinking. ?We went in on a Wednesday night and left on a Tuesday afternoon. ?Jack was born Saturday morning. ?I was in labor for DAYS. ?Anyways, I remember a specific nurse who spent her entire shift with me and told me, "You're going to have this baby before I go home!" ?And well, it didn't happen and she was so upset she asked to work a double just to stay & help care for me. ?It was a long day with her... I was trying to go med free on pit.

Anyways, for some reason they wouldn't let her and she had to go...?

I have a photo of us right before she had to go home. ?And after Jack was born I got a little certificate with his footprints and she had signed the form as his nurse. ?She must have gone into the nursery while I was sleeping that night to see him.

I wish I could thank her now that I'm in my right mind! ?Any ideas? ?Do you think I could just write a letter & send some photos to her on the labor ward of the hospital?

  • I was just thinking this exact same thing the other day - my midwife was with me all day long and was hoping I would give birth before she had to go home (there are 5 midwives and they take shifts at the hospital)...DS ended up being born half an hour after her shift ended! ?I am going to send a little "thank you" with some pictures...I always see those pictures tacked up on the wall in the L&D nurses station. ?I'm sure she would love it...

Plus, you take really beautiful pictures...?

  • Aw thanks. ?I think I will...?

I guess it's never too late for a thank you!
  • as some one who works in a hospital, we cherish our letters and post them on a board.  It helps remind us why we are there.

did you really go med free on pit???  I could not take the pain to my back (the entire back would spasm up) I was worried i was exhaust myself before i even started to push.  Abd cramps i was expecting, Even with the epidural labor and pushing was very uncomfortable

  • I have been thinking about sending a letter to my DR and my nurses. My nurses were awesome, my DR was pushing for a C-sec, but my nurses got me through the birth, and helped make sure I didn't need a C.

I did pitocin too, and I don't know how you did it med free! I am super impressed!
