Since we're on the subject....
Seriously, HOW HOW HOW does everything get done in that house for all those children? Laundry, grocery shopping, dinner making, dishes, dressed for bed/books, and on and on and on. I just don't get it. Does Michele rely on the other kids to do most of this work? I just can't comprehend it.
Re: Duggars question
They don't really seem to mind it. I guess if thats all you know...
FWIW, I don't have 18 kids or anything but I do expect my older boys to watch out for Holly and help her do things if I am busy.
Justus-
No, I think that's fine, and I also think chores for children teaches them responsibilty and to be proud of themselves-I'm for all that. But we're talking 18 kids here....they are clearly picking up A LOT of slack.
Ditto! I see nothing wrong with expecting your kids to do chores and help out. I routinely ask my DS to entertain DD while I cook dinner so I don't have to cook with a toddler clinging to my legs.
It would be different if Michelle sat around and did nothing while the kids did everything, but it seems to me that she is very involved and does a bulk of the work herself.
I don't know... I really try not to judge her because she has raised some really good hearted kids.
They may be very strange but they are good people and I think they really do what they feel is best and most Godlike for their family. You really can't fault them for that.
I'm not trying to say they are bad people per se, it just hits me wrong that the kids have a larger than normal responsibility on their shoulders.
