Is yawning a sign of being tired?

I know this sounds like an obvious answer but DD starts yawning after being awake for only 10 minutes.  I want to catch her before she gets overtired but feel she'll never be awake or have time to play then.

Re: Is yawning a sign of being tired?

  • DD yawns for about 20 mins after she wakes up...probably because she is just still trying to get awake (I do the same thing). Then she stops until about an hour later when she starts yawning again, meaning its nap time!

  • I think if she just woke up then she is just still a little drowsy. I wouldn't put her right back to sleep.  I yawn when I wake up for a little bit.
