Babies: 0 - 3 Months

How are these one month old sttn!!!

I am very glad for you believe me I am sure its great to get sleep, I was just wondering what the heck your doing for this to happen?  Obviously every baby is different but just wondering if you did anything different or if they just slept on their own?  I can't picture my son sttn yet.

Re: How are these one month old sttn!!!

  • I moved Ike into his room at 5 weeks and he started STTN.  I figured out pretty quickly that I was waking HIM up!  He makes noises in his sleep and i thought he was waking up and hungry so i would pick him up and nurse etc, then we moved him into his room one night and when he started making wake up noises i got up to go feed him and he was right back asleep!  So for about a week after that if i heard him i would wait 3 minutes to see if he was really awake or just making noise.  For about 2 weeks i fed him once a night at 1am, then he just stopped waking him at night :)  GL

  • I hear ya.  It'll drive ya nuts reading about it.  But I have found for every one month old STTN around here, there is a 3, 4 or 5 month old that isn't.
  • Mine sleeps thru the night. We just feed him before bed and he go's right down. He sleeps hard to, nothing can wake him up!
  • She just did it on her own. I really wish I could tell you I did something magic so you could too, but I didn't. The only thing I can say is we always kept it bright and noisy during the day and dark and quiet at night. We also always fed on demand. We noticed she started cluster feeding from about 6-9pm (eating 3-4 oz every 1-2 hours) and then she just started sttn. We were shocked, and very happy.
  • My almost 5 month old is not STTN.  In fact, she has regressed.

  • My 7 week old has been STTN (10:30/11-7:30/8) for about 3 weeks now.  It seemed to happen right when we moved her to her crib.  I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  We didn't do anything special.  I think she's doing it on her own.  She tends to cluster feed between 7-10ish and then is out for the night.  I am BFing and my supply has adjusted to her sleeping now.  She has waken up at 5:30 two times to eat within the past 3 weeks.  I am so used to this schedule now, I hope she doesn't change!
