I think I usually will give DS 20-30 mins and if he is not asleep then I takehim out to play some more until he starts to have sleepy cues.

I have learned that 2 hours after she eats she is usually ready for a nap. It took me a while to understand the "cues" so we usually don't have this problem. I have foudn that if I miss the "sleepy window" i'm doomed.
