naps - yes or no? EASY

dd slep from 9:30pm  to 6:45 am. She ate, then napped for 1/2 hour. I just saw 2 yawns(9:30 am) but she does not seem tired @ all. Would you pur her down anyway? I am trying to follow the EASY method but I think she is just one of those wakeful babies & when I try to put her down for a nap when she fights it the whole time. What would you do?

Re: naps - yes or no? EASY

  • I would try becuase I learned that if I put my ds down at the first signs of tiredness he didn't fight as hard and I could lay him down half awake and he would put himself to sleep. Good luck. I follow (more or less) the easy program and it seems to be working. Usually!

  • When we first started EASY it seemed like Ike was ALWAYS going to sleep, but he quickly put himself on a 3 hour schedule.  In the beginning he was awake maybe 45 minutes at a time (including feeding), but now he is awake for 2 hours and sleeps 2 hours (obviously hw has switched to a 4 hour schedule).  I also agree with pp, when i saw Ike yawn i would make a point of changing his diaper and putting him in the crib, sometimes he would talk to himself for maybe 5 minutes and then fall asleep, but if i tried to wait even 15 minutes, he was very cranky and i had missed my window of opportunity, lol.  GL
