Anyone's baby outgrow infant seat before sitting up?

It looks like there is a good chance Cole may outgrow his infant seat before he can sit up.  What do I do when we're out...like at restaurants?

  • This will definitely be us.  My answer is don't go to restaurants or grocery shopping w/ baby.  sucks : (

  • You can still use the bucket seat as a carrier as long as he will physically fit into it. DS is about to grow out of his infant seat, we're going to keep it in our trunk until he's able to sit up.

  • We bought the piece that fits into the shopping cart seat or the highchair and provides a little cushion and support and my DS has been "sitting up" in it since 3.5 months. He is 5.5 months and 19 lbs so it is a good thing, lol
  • Use a carrier like the Moby.
  • We took dd out of her infant carseat before she could sit up ( I think she was about 4 months). I carried her in a sling if we were at the grocery or places like that. At restaurants, I think we used a cart cover to really pad up the highchair and she sat in there all propped up. I have heard of people taking the Bumbo to restaurants, too.

  • DS's about to outgrow his infant carrier. ?We've never used it when we were out though- we just bring his stroller or the Bjorn with us.
