We actually just took DS for a haircut on Saturday. He turned 5 months on Monday. It was so scarggly everywhere and stood straight up in the back b/c of a cowlick.
i will get DS's hair cut when it's needed, regardless of age. my co worker let her son's hair get soooo long it was all in his eyes for months before his first birthday, then she finally cut it. that really chapped my azz, it was borderline neglect, the poor kid could barely see and was ALWAYS pushing his hair out of his eyes.

One of my coworkers is Navajo. Her baby has this thick, beautiful head of hair. In their culture, once the baby speaks her first word they shave all the hair off.
just lurking from the 6+ board...DD has a killer combover, it wore away (at least got thinner) everywhere, but in a stripe right now the center. Now when you brush it to the side it looks just silly. We've already cut the sides right by her ears, they were crazy long! I can't believe that anyone would really think of not cutting it just for superstition sake.
Re: Haircuts. For babies.
Will is working on a serious mullet right now.
If it gets any worse, I have no problem cutting it before he hits a year old.
yeah, D is rockin the semi-mullet right now. i thought he'd look cute with a buzz but now i'm not sure
