Nursing tanks: I don't get it

So, I bought a few nursing tanks during my 3rd trimester. I was so excited because everyone talked about how awesome they were and how you just live in them. But I really don't get it. Are you supposed to wear them alone without a nursing bra. They don't seem to offer enough support without a bra. But if you wear it in addition to a bra, then it's just too confusing with too many layers and crap to get undone before you can BF.

  • I wear them around the house without a bra under it.

ditto. they are comfy for me!

  • I don't wear a bra with it.
  • It depends probably on what kind you have.  I used to live in them during my maternity leave for just around the house and would just wear a cardigan/sweatshirt over top.  I really like the Bravado brand - not as much support as a bra but good enough for around the house.  I reeaally like their nursing bras - that's what I wear everyday now.
  • I wear just the tanks with nursing pads.  I love them--keeps my belly warm at night during feedings.
  • I wear them to work... I can pump without everyone seeing my hotttt stretchmarked stomach. Some are better than others. I have some Target ones that were given to me that are crap. I ordered mine on GlamourMom and they're great, especially the extra long ones. (I'm a DD usually and they support me just fine)

Married on 3.20.2004. It took 30 month, 2 failed adoptions and IVF for our first miracle. We have had 9 foster kids since he was born and started the domestic adoption process when he was 10 month old, we had 4 failed matches in that time. After our daughter was born we brought her home and spent 2 weeks fearing we might lose her because of complications that came up. But Praise God all went through and she is ours forever! • I have huge boobs, but I love my tanks for sleeping and hanging out in at home. I show way too much cleavage and don't have enough support to wear them out anywhere.
  • I have huge boobs, and my Target nursing tanks provide a lot of support!  I wear them at night under a sweatshirt and I feel really comfy.

  • I love them... I am usually a D god, knows what I am now!  They offer enough support... I usually wear them under a hoodie or a regular shirt.  I wouldn't go running a marathon in one, but for now they are good.

  • Thanks girls! So you're not supposed to wear a bra under them. I don't think I'm that big. I was a D before getting pregnant and a DD during pregnancy. Now I think I'm a little bigger. I guess I'm just used to having them hoisted up a little more so it feels uncomfortable wearing just a tank and no bra. Ahh well. Thanks for clearing that up though.
