Anyone go into labor soon after no progress at exam?

Hi-I was just wondering if anyone went into labor after only being 1-2 cm or not much advanced at their dr's appt???? They say those internal exams mean nothing but it's so hard to believe. Anyhow, I'm just depressed so was looking for some uplifting experiences! And congrats to you all on your babies!!!!

I was fingertip dilated at my 40 week exam.  They stripped my membranes and I went into labor that night.  It did take me a long time to dilate fully though (almost 2 days!)  so I was in labor for a while.  Good luck!

I had no progress at my 39wk appt. I went to work, met the pedi, had dinner and walked around a super market that night. The next morning I was heading to the hospital with 5min apart contractions that came out of nowhere. Total labor process was 6hrs.

Yep! I had absolutely 0 progress on Monday and was in labor the next day and delivered the day after! 2 days before my due date. A friend of mine was 1-2 cm for 4 weeks and delivered late. Everyone is different so dont worry about where you are.

Yes, my water broke at about 1 in the morning. I was only 32 weeks, but didn't see it coming. Now that I think about it, I should have known something was up, I spent the whole day before cleaning the heck out of my house, I mean SCRUBBING everything! I keep a clean house but that day I remember so clearly walking around with dust cloths and spray bottles. Cheer up, Your LO will come when you least expect it

At my 37 week I had no progress only fingertip. That night my water broke !

My water broke suddenly at 37 weeks with no "progress" at my prior exam.  Good luck!

I was 80% effaced and a fingertip dilated at my 40 week exam my OB stripped my membranes and 4 days later I was heading to the hospital in active labor.

When I went to the hospital I was only 2 cm dilated and 100% effaced but was having regular contractions 2-3 minutes apart and only was in labor at the hospital for about 8 hours before I began pushing.

I never had any progress with internal exams.

Nothing.

At 40 weeks the dr says it wasn't looking like she was going to come on her own and we scheduled and induction. She came 4 days later, by herself and beat the induction!

At my 40 wk 2 day apt I was 0 cm and she had not dropped. My water broke at 2pm the next day.

Me! I had little to no progress on a Tuesday, water broke that Thursday morning. Everyone is different though.

Most everyone here has been where you are. Your baby will be here before you know it. I know it's tough, just hang in there.

yes! I went in on a Friday for checkup and nst..I was 1 cm dialated 75% effaced..no contractions on nst for the 20 minutes I was on there...Went into labor that night and dd was born the next morning. It happens!

I had no progress (no dilation, effacement, not even dropped yet!) at my 40wk appt. My MW gave me a very "vigourous" exam and I went into labor at 4am the next day! It took me 33 hours and some pitocin to get to 10.

I was told I was 1 cm 3 days before I went into labor. 

Ends up the doctor was wrong and I wasn't even dilated at all when I got to the hospital.

At my 39w appt on a Wednesday afternoon, I had zero progress whatsoever. Thursday night/early Friday I went into labor, and had my daughter early Friday afternoon.

GL! The "progress" or lack thereof means nothing!

Yup.  The day of my 39 week appointment I was told basically no progress and that night my water broke.

Yup - me too, went in at my 38 week appointment (midwife didn't do any internal exams) and it looked like I had dropped further but that was about it, they also hooked me up to the machine thingy (can't for the life of me remember the name to monitor my blood pressure and ?I was already having some mild contractions)...next day I lost my mucous plug and went into labor! ?Labor took over three days, but that's neither here nor there!!

Me!  He was sitting really low but NO progress whatsoever then my water broke a few days later.  Then I went from a 0 to a 10 in an hour at the hospital!  Good Luck and hang in there!!!

With #1, I was not dilated and barely effaced at 39w 6d. I had felt no braxton hicks the entire pregnancy, let alone even a hint of a real contraction. My water broke on my due date, seemingly out of absolutely nowhere.

Yes, I was 0 cm dialated at 40 weeks, my doctor said I was so closed she couldn't even tell where to look! Same thing at 40 weeks 4 days and then I went into labour at 41 weeks.

I had no progress at my 40 week appointment (a saturday) went into labor monday morning at 2am, took me a long time to be fully dilated though, was in labor 28 hours.
