OTC Cold Meds?

Does anyone know which OTC cold medications are safe to take while breastfeeding?  I have a runny nose and am sneezing like crazy.  I'd like to take something like Tylenol Cold or Allergy.  The Nursing Mothers book says antihistamines can make a baby fussy...I'd like to avoid that if possible.  She's fussy enough without any additional help.  Smile

I just called my pedi about this Monday. She said that the otc cold medicines were fine to take.  The ones behind the pharmacy counter are the ones to avoid because they will dry you out.  She did say a little bit of the antihistimine can transfer but it is no big deal.  I have been taking it for a couple of days and have noticed no change in DC.

My pedi also said anything OTC was fine, just to drink lots of water because they tend to dry you out.
