3rd Trimester

Worst Night's Sleep

Last night was the worst night's sleep I've had this entire pregnancy.  I could not fall asleep, although I was so tired.  My legs were having horrible cramps (and that doesn't usually happen to me).  At around 2:00, I decided to go try to sleep in the guest bedroom thinking that having the whole bed would let me stretch out a little more.  The leg cramps were so bad that I could hardly walk - I felt like my legs were going to give out.  At that point, I started sobbing and DH woke up.  He came into the other room to massage my legs.  I was crying more because I was so tired and frustrated that I couldn't sleep than from the pain.  Finally around 3 or 3:30 I fell asleep.  I still woke up a lot and got only about 3-4 hours of sleep total.  I know that sleep won't be all that plentiful once the baby is born, but I hope that the sleep I do get is more restful.

Re: Worst Night's Sleep

  • I've had quite a few nights like this, not due to leg cramps, but more restless legs.  My doc prescribed Ambien only for when I need it and it works like a charm! Would that be an option for you? I know you are very close to your due date, so you may not have to worry about it much longer...

  • Minus the leg massages from DH thats my nights every night.  I get more sleep during the day.  It stinks.  I keep hoping it will get better.  I hope the same for you as well.  Good Luck.
