Birthing/Lamaze Class ?

How many of you had to watch a video of an actual birth in your class?  Do they really make you do this or is it only in the movies?   I really don't want to watch any videos like this.  I know how babies come out and I don't want to see it coming out of someone, including myself.  Flame if you must, but everyone handles seeing this differently.  I could barely watch the crowning scene in Knocked Up, so I really don't want to see this in my class this weekend.  Curious to see how many of you had this in your class.  Thanks!

Yup, we saw a video of real births in our labor class.

The videos they showed us were all pretty tame. You see maybe only a couple of seconds of crowning and a couple of seconds of placenta delivery. Nothing queasy husbands couldn't look away for.

We've seen about 5 and we're only halfway through our classes!  It doesn't really bother me though.

We watched a couple videos in our class.  They were more to show you different ways you can labor....naturally, with an epidural, or just with a little pain medication.  Although they did show the actual birth it wasn't right up in there.

We haven't done our classes yet but they told us they would be showing these videos to us.

We saw a bunch in class.  My big thing is not the birth - its watching the women in labor in signficant pain.  That was harder for me to watch.

Yep - If I have to watch another birth besides my own I'm going to scream!  Esp. another scene of water breaking while delivering --- I thought the baby's head exploded!
