DC getting rough with the boob

All of a sudden DS is pinching and pulling back when I BF him.  He's not pulling like he has to burp or anything, but more playing.  I know he's hungry when I feed him, so I'm not sure why he is doing this, but it hurts!!  Any advice on what to do to get him to stop, and is anyone else's DC doing this?  TIA

    No advice, but DS just started doing this yesterday. He keeps pulling away and pinching at my nipples, and his finger nails are super sharp. Ouch!

    No advice either. I have tried to pull DD off my nipple when she does it, but she keeps doing it. It is always the same side too. It feels like my nipple is being ripped off. I had to actually stop nursing off that side and switch to pumping until I healed. I cringe at the thought of teething.

    You could try putting something in his eye range to play with (necklace, bracelet) to occupy him and keep him at the breast.

    BF babies just start doing things like this when they're older.  My DD loves to try and turn to look at her brother and continue nursing all at the same time.

    I try to feed her alone in her room and I hold her free hand while she nurses so she won't pinch me.  But there are times when she gets mad at me holding her hand.  She would rather pinch and whack me while she nurses... the joys of nursing.
