What else for crib?

My husband is buying our crib now.  What else do we need for it?  I know a mattress does not come with it.  Do they also require a box spring like a traditional bed?

No box spring. Just a mattress and a mattress cover, sheet, sheet saver.

is it realllly a must? I just figured since the mattress wipes right off clorox would clean any damage from pee/poop?

If you have registered or are getting a motion sensor monitor, you need to get a piece of plywood or something to put between the springs and the mattress so that the motion sensor can "read" it.

I bought it because it has some cushion to it and seemed more comfortable for the baby.
