1st Trimester

Spotting

I am currently 7 and a half weeks preggers. My husband and I are super excited, we had been trying for almost 9 months!

So once we found out the good news, everything was going great, no 'morning' sickness, everything was great. At about 5 weeks I started to notice brownish spotting. Of course my first reaction was to panic! I did some quick research (google, and a few books i have), and I got so many conflicting theories. I was so fusterated, and scared, but I didnt want to stress out needlessly. There was little to no cramping (probably more like gas haha). I have now had this going on off and on for almost 2 weeks, and once or twice have had bright red spotting.

I have had blood tests done twice, and everything is perfect in that way. My Dr. decided to send me to have a ultrasound today, to make sure all is well. I saw the tiny baby, and there was a heartbeat, so emotional, very overwhelming. I was told my Dr. would have the test results by Thursday, and he would give me a call then.

UGH! So now I am playing the waiting game, eventhough I have seen, and heart a heartbeat! I cant help but to be worried. Anyone else been through this? I need some support and some positive thoughts to help me through this wait period, so that I can stop worrying and focus on enjoying this miracle, and staying healthy!

Thanks, I know this is a long post, but Im feeling kind of down about it!

Re: Spotting

  • Lots of positive energy to you!! I know what you're going through, I've also had the spotting thing, and even though I've had two good ultrasounds, it's really hard to relax.?

Just remember that the best thing you can do for your baby is to take it easy and think good thoughts. You've seen a doctor, so really, everything that can be done, has been done. It's hard to wait, but you'll make it!

    Keep us updated.

    All the best!?

  • I had spotting on and off from 6-10 weeks with 2 times that were bright red (although not a lot).  Seeing the hb is a really good sign.  Don't worry too much.
