2nd Trimester

maternity wear

I am having trouble finding maternity wear.  I have gone to walmart, jcpenney, sears, target, old navy, gap and they either start with size 2 or 4.  I am petite and size 1, but my belly is growing and I don't know what to do.  Any suggestions as to where I can go to find something affordable. Pants for 20 bucks maybe?  I don't want to shop onine either.

Re: maternity wear

  • sorry, I wear a size 7 pre-pregnancy, so I cannot help you. But one of my good friends is a size 0 and she had no trouble finding stuff at motherhood. GL

  • I have found size 0 in gap maternity.  And, I know that I have seen gap and old navy maternity size 0 on ebay......  I tried motherhood maternity with my last pregnancy and everything was way too big.  I'm usually a size 2.  Do you have Thyme Maternity where you are?  I found stuff there that was very small.
  • If you want to buy new and offline then I think you'll have to shell out more than $20. ?I'm still wearing my regular jeans because most of them sit low enough and have some stretch in them but I did buy a pair from gap. ?Of course they have to be altered but I plan to wear them for more than one pregnancy.

I received several boxes from my girlfriends that have recently been pregnant; most of their clothes are too big for me but I'm pinning them and inserting small stitches to make them fit me better. ?Ask your girlfriends and their friends. ?Maybe search your local freecycle.org and craigslist boards, also look in the paper for garage sales.?

  • Gap and Old Navy Maternity are good choices.. Motherhood Maternity has GREAT jeans although they are a little spendy 30 or more dollars they do have a clearance rack with a lot of their jeans too!!!!
  • try some mat boutiques.  they'll be more spendy but they should have your size.
