NPR-Ever install your own cabinets?

Eventually I want to redo our kitchen.  It's big, but the space isn't used very well.  I was wondering if anyone has ever installed cabinets, and what you thought of it.  I'm sure DH would insist on having someone else do it, but I come from a family of DIYers, so I always consider it at least.

  • My DH did ours. He says it was about a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most difficult.

  • Hmm. That sounds a little harder than I was hoping for.  I was hoping for a 4.  Thanks!  I'll make sure to include installation when pricing stuff.

  • We contemplated it when we were looking into redoing our kitchen.  We ultimately decided against it, because DH's time was better used working his job, and when I saw how much work our contractor and his carpenter put into it, I was VERY glad we didn't do it ourselves!

My husband is NOT a very good DIY'er, though.
