Miami DayCare (around Coral Gables)

Hi girls,
I know it's kind of early to be looking at daycares for DD, but we have a lot of decisions to make as far as moving back to Ft. Lauderdale (near my family) or staying at DH's grandfather's house in Miami (where we both work, and we live for free). If we stay in Miami, I need to find a daycare. I work at Miami Children's Hospital, but in dermatology, not as part of the actual hospital, so I'm on their daycare wait list, but priority goes to actual employees. Can anyone recommend a NICE and CLEAN day care near MCH or Coral Gables...preferably one where they speak English??? A few that I've heard about are very hispanic, and being that we are both American and don't speak Spanish, I'd like to be able to communicate with DD's teachers. Thanks :)

Re: Miami DayCare (around Coral Gables)

  • Granada Day School is a church-based daycare/preschool at University and Bird Road in the Gables.  Banyan Day School is another one off LeJeune.  Both of them have teachers that speak English.  Banyan day, I believe is a bilingual school where they teach in both English and Spanish but the teachers all speak both.  At least that is what I've heard. I did not visit either of these places, in full disclosure, but I heard good things about both.
  • UM's daycare center (Canterbery) I've heard is amazing.  However, it is a bit expensive.  I'm not sure your budget, but I've hear a lot of great reviews about it.
