Washington Babies

Kirkland/Bellevue area

Hi Ladies,

I dont usually post much on this board but my husband is currently interviewing in Seattle.  So being the planner I want to start looking at daycares that will take young babies and are on the lower price end while still being very good.  If you can give me any direction on places you have found that would help out a ton.  Hopefully I will be on here a lot more in the near future if this job works out!

Re: Kirkland/Bellevue area

  • I don't have any suggestions since we are currently looking too, but just wanted to say Welcome!

  • thanks! Congratulations on twins.  I am just a little nervous b/c I heard about waiting lists and I feel very behind.  This is premature b/c he has not been offered the job yet but I feel like I need to start preparing just in case.
  • I have an 11 month old and recently moved to Seattle. I called about 10 centers on the Eastside and NOT ONE OF THEM had a current opening for an infant.?

We are going with a full time nanny.

You may want to look into a nanny share and that could save you some money.

Good luck. It totally sucks out there.?

  • I think on the lower price end your probably going to be looking at someone who does in home daycare.  Some companies around like microsoft get discounted rates at places like kindercare and bright horizons.  Do you know for sure that you would be in the kirkland/bellevue area?

  • Kindercare and La Petit Academy seem to be on the more affordable end of things, if you are looking for a center.  They have several locations on the eastside (Bellevue/Kirkland area).  Bright Horizons is the big one people recommend a lot but it is very pricey.  Good luck!  :)

  • Actually, we did inquire at Bright Horizons in Bellevue and the quote came back at almost $1800 a month PER CHILD. Definitely not an option with twins.....
