Someone on here the other day was talking about honey as a cold remedy? I found it very interesting that on the Today show yesterday there was a pedi that was saying if your child is over a year old that a teaspoon of honey they have found is the best remedy for a bad cough. Well Cruz has a horrible cold and it works like a charm! He wasn't too into the honey at first but he seems to like it in warm water!

Brothers!
Re: Who was it that was talking about honey??
I use honey to cure DD of diarehha. Works like a charm every time.
DD has a cold, and I have been giving her honey in her oatmeal in the morning, and she seems to be getting through it better then me. Maybe I will have some honey on toast for lunch!
Hmmm...do they specify any kind of honey? Or will just the plain old honeybear do the trick?
May have to try this next time.
I've heard that but haven't tried it... I'll do it next time!
It's best to have local honey in general because the local pollens in it help with allergies - or so I've heard..
It might have been me. I have been using it since Eli turned one for his coughs. I use half a teaspoon for 1-5 year olds and 1 tsp for older (meaning me and DH)
My grandma taught me this trick when I was younger cause I have always hated the taste of cough syrup
