So paranoid about fevers now....

DD had a febrile seizure Monday night.  It was the most horrible experience and I can't forget it!  She stopped breathing for a brief period and it took her a while to come back around afterwards.  We got discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon but she keeps getting temps (they're pretty low grade now about 100.8 or so) but I can't stop taking her temp!  I'm so paranoid!  Her temp was above 104 when she had the seizure but it lasted about 5 minutes long. 

I'm going to drive her nuts with my thermometer.  Poor baby.

My DS has had a fever since yesterday.  It has stuck around 102.  This makes me so nervous....

that is very scary. i know how you feel -- dd had a high fever for 2-3 days a couple of weeks ago and i kept waking up every hour to take her fever. at one point it was at 103.8. do you know about giving lukewarm baths? we gave her one when her temp got too high and each time the cool bath brought her down 1 degree. hope your dd gets better soon!!

I had them growing up and it finally went away around 4 or 5. Giving baths when the fever reaches 103 helps to quickly bring it down.  You should get the non-contact infrared Clinical Thermometer by Thermofocus Kidz-Med. It's awesome just point to the forehead and the red dot scans and you get a reading in seconds.@ amazon for $51.95

I would be too if I were in your position.  I am glad to hear your DD is doing better.  How scary!
