Some of you might remember me venting a few weeks ago when daycare transitioned all of Mikey's friends to the toddler room but kept him and another girl that weren't walking yet in the big kid side of the infant room. Well his friend was recently transitioned to the toddler room because she started walking soon after the December transition. The teachers there know that I want Mikey moved ASAP. The director even told me his spot is waiting for him in the toddler room so I know they want him over there soon too. There big deal is to move to the toddler room you need to be walking which Mikey just started walking 2 weeks ago. He's not walking full-time and I don't think he ever will as long as he's in the infant room because all of the kids around him are crawling. 

I was thinking about waiting until the end of next week to give him a little more practice and if they haven't brought up transitioning to me I'll bring up the topic. Now I'm itching to ask them sooner because I see them bringing over some of the new crawlers to his side of the room and when I visit I'm afraid he's going to run into them with the push walker because he could care less if anyone is in front of him. 

Ok so this is more of a rant. I don't even know what my real question is. I want to wait and ask next week but after seeing him almost run into an 8 month old that is just starting to crawl I almost feel like I need to bring up the topic beforehand. Thoughts????

Hayden is waiting to move to the nex room too.  They don't have any room at this point.  I like the teachers she is with right now, so I don't mind them keeping her.  I don't think that being with babies that are crawling will both your son.  Once he is walking on his own, he will do it all the time.  Mine just started walking by herself last week, and she is on a roll now.  She does not crawl much except at home when she wants to get to something really fast.  The teachers should be watching them to make sure they are not running over each other.

If this issue is bothering you I say bring it up immediately.
As long as you are calm and direct with your complaint you should not get any negative feedback from the Director.
Him running over a crawling baby should be a MAJOR concern to them.

DD just transitioned to the toddler room too. It took me forever to get them to bring her over there. She was meeting all the criteria (walking, on whole milk, eating regular food, etc) and they were still dragging their feet. She was walking at 10 months and didn't go over to the toddler room till 13 mo.  So sometimes you need to just go to the director and say I want her to start in the new room on X date. Make sure you are all on the same page.

I'd talk to the director.  Maybe they can try transitioning slowly -- a few hours or so in the toddler room and the rest where he is to see how he does.  They routinely move kids over before they are walking FT in DD's daycare -- she was one of them.  The kids tend to start walking soon after moving over and she was no exception.  Our center focuses more on being able to eat table foods and drink from sippys.

if it bothers you, tell them your concerns, but you only have 3 more days, so you could wait it out too.

My DS was in the infant room when he started walking.  they just go around one another.  If daycare doesn't think it's an issue it mustn't be
