Adoption party gift??

Hi everyone! 

I have a friend who is fostering/adopting a 5 year old girl and  her adoption is finally going to be legal tomorrow.  This weekend she is having a casual get together to celebrate.  What is an appropriate gift?  Do I bring something for the parents and the little girl?   Any ideas?

I don't think you can go wrong whatever you choose.  How about a chuck e cheese or amusement park gift card so they can all have a fun family time together.

Don't under estimate the power of "princesses" for a 5 year old as well. Anything princess themed that would make the girl feel special is a good idea too.

I agree with everything, everyone else said! Even though at five she might not appreciate photos and family albums, one day she will. Maybe you can give her a small gift to appease a five year old on the day of but then that day take lots of great pictures and create a 'family' album to later send to them marking their special day/party - leaving places for them to insert other pictures from the legal finalization.

Bring something for the little girl, that would make the parents happy. Just want to say you're a good friend to put thought into it, very sweet.
