synagis

My boys will be getting the synagis shot on Thursday and I wanted to know who has had good and who has had bad experiences with the shot.  I know I've read that some kids have bad reactions, but some have none.  What are your experiences??

Re: synagis

  • My son has had 3 shots and has had no reaction.  I hope that your twins handle it well!

  • Marino's had it 3 times with no bad reaction. Based on his reaction to it, I would guess that the actual shot is more painful than some of the others he's had, but he hasn't had any bad reactions after the shot. He's also had 3 tiny colds since November and none of them turned out to be more than a stuffy nose, which I attribute to the Synagis:)

  • My guys had 3 shots last winter with no reactions, aside from crying because the needle hurt.
  • DS has had 2 shots, both totally uneventful. He screams for a minute, then he's fine.
  • we've had only one shot so far, but with no reaction.
  • We've had 2 shots so far with no problems.  He cries more at diaper change time than he did from the shot!
  • Brandon has had 5 shots so far and no reaction. He does cry when he gets the shot.

  • DS has had three so far this season. ?He never has a bad reaction to the shot exactly, but he does get a runny nose / cold like symptoms a couple of days later. ?Maybe it is a coincidence.

  • DD has had three rounds thus far with no problems.  She had the third one just yesterday afternoon.  This morning, she woke up just like she always does, happy and ready for her day.  The only thing I didn't like was that the amount of Synagis she had to have because of her weight now, she had to have in two separate shots instead of one.  But she did her usual mad scream with a few tears and then was over it.
  • Read my blog in my siggie for our bad experiences.  Make sure you are familiar with the signs and symptoms of side effects before they get the shot.  I will still give the shot to them, unless Synagis or our Pedi tells us not to but it is scary for us.
