Are you experiencing the "wakeful period"? ?If so, tell me about it. ?Just curious how real/common this is as I try to figure out what's going on with our baby. ?I'm suspecting wakeful period or early teething. ?DS went from STTN from 7 weeks on to being a wild child alllll night long, he's up every 2-3 hours. ?His pedi demanded (well, strongly suggested) we put him in his crib and let him scream. ?We did get him moved to his crib but are not ready to CIO, I just can't do it yet. He's fighting naps and just a whole lot crankier than he's ever been. ? He wants to go down for the night at 6pm, but then he's up and ready to party at 5am. ?Oy.
Anyway, just looking for some other experiences with this. ?I wish I could figure him out.?
Re: moms of 4 monthers
DS just got over his 4-month wakeful, but we are still stuck napping in the swing and for only 45 minutes. Also, he will only sleep in his crib if he falls asleep in our arms first. So, today, I did our nap routine and put him in his crib sleepy but awake. He talked/fussed/cried for a half hour. I kept going in and patting him and talking to him. Finally, he had rolled all over his crib, so I picked him up. He fell asleep within minutes. I put him in his crib, and he slept for 2 hours. I couldn't believe it. I don't feel like I really let him CIO because I kept going in there, and he fell asleep with me. But, it was a step in the right direction.
S has been 'wakeful' for three weeks now, it's killing me. Naps are finally getting better this week, she'd only nap in our arms up until yesterday, I've even gotten her to nap in the crib! Nights are bad, she'll sleep for 4 hours, wake to eat, then it's a horrid cycle until the sun comes up. She'll sleep for an hour, then be up every half hour after that, not hungy, and she settles down the second we pick her up. But then it's only a half hour of sleep after that. Pedi had some recs, but most included too much crying for my tasts now.
Good Luck!
not sure if this was her wakeful period, but the last few weeks have been horrid at night. she naps like a champ, but at night she's been waking every couple hours to eat. early this week she stopped waking to eat and just fussed the majority of the night. the last 2 nights, she went from 11:30 - 6:00 without eating, but she was up at 4 fussing. the only thing i could do was bring her in bed with me and try to keep putting her paci back in, she'd usually finally go to sleep when dh got up and she could be stretched out next to me on her side cuddled up.
good luck, i hope it gets better for you!
