Global Gag Rule

I missed all of the back and forth about abortions... and I don't mean to rehash something. 

But having done extensive research on the Global Gag Rule (or Mexico City Policy), you should probably know what you are talking about before you bring something up!  The Global Gag Rule says that federal funds cannot be used for any organization that merely engages in debate regarding abortion (if they are on the pro-choice side).  Furthermore, by reducing the funding, things like condoms are much harder to get to people, which undermines the goal of the eradication of HIV. 

George Bush's first act in office in 2001 was to reinstate the global gag rule.  

Things are often more complicated than a simple statement... and doing some research before stirring the pot is encouraged.
