shooting pain in breast when feeding?

If you have a mild, shooting pain in your breast when feeding (I feel it in the opposite one) - is this always a sign of thrush? Or could it be anything else?

I have a dr appt next week, so I'll bring it up with her then.....just wondering in the meantime.

Could be thrush or an early sign of mastitis.

wait, opposite side then you are nursing on? And only while nursing? Is it just let down?

My first thought is let-down.   This happens to me every time I nurse...the opposite side gets a pain as the milk lets down and then I tend to leak a bit from the side not being nursed.

yeah it's the opposite one so I figured let-down...but DD has a bit of white on the back of her tongue. I can't really reach back there to tell if it's just milk or if it's white that doesn't go away.

white on the tongue is fine, white on the sides of the mouth is not.
