Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Another question- When did your DC's eyes change?

Just wondering b/c DS still has blue eyes and he is almost 4 months old. DH and I both have brown eyes and I have said all along that I highly doubt he will keep blue eyes but they haven't changed yet.

Re: Another question- When did your DC's eyes change?

  • My DD kept her blue eyes till she was about 14 months and then they turned green.  I think they usually turn by 6 months though

  • Our pedi said it could take up to 2 years - and I read somewhere on-line it could take up to 3 years!

  • By 6 weeks Carolines eyes were brown. Julias are starting to change.
  • Our pediatrician said if they were going to change you could probably tell by six months (they would at least start changing by then). However, I read online that eye color change is triggered (based on genes) by exposure to sun because it essentially activates the pigment in the eyes. The article said that babies' eyes can change up to 2-3 years and there's a slight possibility that anyone's eyes can change across their lifetime, especially with a lot of sun exposure.
