Mattress or fluffy pad for pack n plays?

Does anyone know of a good one and where to get it? I heard the bottom of the pack n plays are often pretty hard so I wanted to get a mattress or soft matress pad of some sort to go in the bottom of it. We have a graco pack n play.

Re: Mattress or fluffy pad for pack n plays?

  • The pad isn't that hard. I'd say it's firm more than anything else, which is supposedly what you want anyway. I got the quilted Graco PnP sheets to soften it up a bit, but you don't want it like a featherbed either. They do have mattress pads for PnP's as well, but I didn;t think it was necessary.

I'd steer clear of anything "fluffy" though, if DC is going to be sleeping in it while very young.

  • Thanks! Yes, I don't mean "fluffy" to the point of suffocating them lol...just something to soften the bottom up for them - the quilted sheet sounds like a good idea!
  • We use the pad as is when Traveling and DS slept great it isn't hard just firm.

  • Did you get the kind with the bassinet attachment? The pad is the same, but it's not quite as hard in the bassinet as when it's in the bottom of the playpen portion.

I've heard the quilted sheets are good for them when they start to sit up as well... gives them something to kind of grip. The pad itself is a little slippery.

  • We just used a regular pnp sheet.  It didn't seem that hard to me.
