I just found change on DS's playmat. ?I know DH gets down on the ground to play with him but you would think he would notice! ?What if he tried to eat a penny? ?

We keep a jar by the door for DH to empty his pockets when he gets home each day.  You can never be too careful!

Sounds like something my DH would do!  Now that they are at that age where they can pick up things and they all go straigh to the mouth.  I need to remind dh to watch leaving stuff around house she can eat!!

He really should be more careful.  If you need a scary story to tell him, you can use my nephew as an example.  He swallowed a penny and it was lodged in his throat for at least a month.  He kept having pneumonia type symptoms and they did multiple chest x-rays and could never see signs of pneumonia.  They didn't see the penny because it was just out of range of the chest x-ray.  Finally an ER doctor requested a full body scan and they found it.  He was immediately transported by ambulance to a bigger hospital and had to be sedated to have it removed.  He was so incredibly lucky that it lodged in his throat at an angle.  It could have easily shifted and cut of his airway.  Very, very scary stuff!

This reminds me of that story about the baby who ate the battery... it caused so much damage.  I think they recovered, though.

Why do men never notice stuff?  My DH will walk over a piece of paper, twist tie, cat puke, etc. - just walk right over it - does he really not see it?  Really?
