My son is 8 weeks old, and has no problems sleeping, but the catch is he only will sleep on me at night. ?We try to put him into the cradle but like two minutes after he goes down he is awake. ?If he lays on my stomach in my recliner he is sound asleep. ?Fortunately, I can sleep like this and so can he. ?But are we going to have trouble later or is he too little to even realize??
Re: My Baby will only sleep on me....HELP
My daughter will only sleep on me during the day (she is fine in her crib at night). We've tried transitioning her into her crib during the day but the second she touches the mattress she is up. Honestly, I figure if she wants to be held, I'm happy to hold her. However, you are going to have to get him in his crib eventually...it will probably get more unfortable for you to sleep with him as he gets bigger. Have you tried swaddling him? That really helps DD. Does he nap on his own during the day?
Best Advice I ever got from a Nurse at the Hospital I delivered at (as we had the same problem...and once I went back to work sleeping like that was just not an option)...
Get a Warming bottle and put it in the crib/ bassinet 15 minutes before you are planning on putting your lovebug to sleep...to warm the spot you will put him/ her on. Once you're ready to transfer DD/DB remove the Warming Bottle and Place Baby onto the warm spot, with your hand on his/ her Belly...Slowly move your hand away...Tada...Worked like a charm every time! (She now goes to sleep on her own)
Instead of the Warming Bottle I now have a Chenille Blanket for her, which doesn't hold cold so no matter when you put her down she snuggs into her blanket...and is toasty in a second...
Good Luck!
