$150 per week fair price???

We just interviewed a lady to watch our 3-month old son. She has a 1-year old and would babysit him in her home. I had a really, really good feeling about her, lots of tlc for him, and attention. We need her four days a week and she'd charge $150 per week. The hours would be 7-4. Is that a good rate?

Depends on your area. I pay $150 a week for 7am to 6pm.

That's amazing for me, but I'm in Chicago. We pay $8/hr. for ours and it will be costing us just over $200/week for three days!

It depends on your area but I would say YES! I was going to pay $100 per week for two part-time days. That was at a center though.

The places were are looking at here in CA are 200-250 a week. In home and 5 kids with 2 adults.

That's just a little over four bucks an hour? Wow I guess it depends on your area and how many children she is watching. If it is only yours and hers, then I think that is really, really, low. but if you live in a more rural area than it might be the going rate?

Good luck! If that price sounds good to you and she is willing to work for it then I would say go for it.

Depends on where you live, but that sounds great. I pay $125 a week from 7:00-2:30. It's an in-home lady who takes care of a 2 year old as well.

That is what I pay for five days 8-3 so it sound about right if you are going four days 7-4.

We'll be paying $250 a week (5 days a week, 8 hours a day) for daycare which is a VERY good deal for where we live, just outside of NYC....it completely depends on where you live, but I think it's a great deal!
