I am having a very hard time breastfeeding DD. Background- she didn't latch on until we came home from the hospital and I have been having a hard time getting her to latch correctly. Unfortunately, we had to supplement some at the hospital b.c. the dr was concerned about her weight and we also used pumped bm so that she would eat.
I have the names of 2 LCs. Both come with good recommendations. One you have to go to her office (30 min away) for help and she is known to be really helpful and follow up. The other will come to me and I have heard is helpful but sometimes hard to get a hold of. Which would you go to? I see the pluses of each one and I just need to get some help before I give up on breast feeding...
Re: WWYD re:LC?
I'd see whomever could get me in first. Or both if possible.
We drove 45 minutes to see our LC because of her personality and after the initial fee, all follow ups were free. ?We saw her weekly for 9 weeks (lots of problems). ?She would have worked with us longer if we wanted, but we moved out of state. ?
Can you talk to both and try to suss out who would be a better fit for you?One week, early on, our regular LC wasn't available and we met with some one else. She was horrible. Mean, condescending and really forceful. ?If I had met with her first, I'm not sure if I would have made it.?
