Where to make invites?

I want to make a picture invite for DS's birthday, but not sure where to do it.  I looked on Shutterfly and there wasn't anything there that really jumped out at me.  I want something different- something that I can completely create.  Anyone know where I can do this?

You create it, save it, then go to File, export as a jpeg, then you can upload to any photo print shop and have them printed.  Just an FYI, they print better as a 5x7 than a 4x6.

  • Thanks for the info.  Is it pretty easy to create one?  Where have you had them printed?  I use to go to Target, but I don't like the new paper that they are using so I haven't been printing any pictures.

  • I use scrapblog and snapfish.

  • here's the one I made with scrapblog.  It was easy, cheap and I have gotten alot of positive comments about it.  I used snapfish, then bought envelopes online to fit the prints.

  • Question for those of you who have printed 5x7 with scrapblog... did the pictures turn out a bit fuzzy (low pixel)? I did that for our Xmas cards and while the actual scrapblog images/designs were crisp, the photos I had on there ended up looking like they were too low resolution for the size.. I had 3 pictures on there, so it wasn't like they were huge or anything, and I used my Canon Rebel Xsi on high res... Did I do something wrong? Or does scrapblog resize the pictures on purpose so you wouldn't want to print elsewhere but with them?

  • I've found the scrapblog stuff really fuzzy too, so much that I hesitate to use them for cards.

Someone suggested Vistaprint as a good location to create a card, but I haven't checked it out yet.

As for printing up photos, we use Costco and love the results.

cheap, great quality & fast shipping!

  • I found with scrapblog that it depends on where you have them printed.  The 5x7s I printed at Walgreens were really fuzzy, but the ones I printed at Wolf Camera were very clear.
  • I have never had a problem printing any 5x7 invites/cards from scrapblog and have used snapfish and shutterly to print with. I will say that myt one hour Christmas proof came out with a more vibrant color than the ones I mailed order but they all came out great.

I have learned through mistakes though to crop my 5x7 before placing my order. I always had images of center, until I learned to crop through the photo site.
