Does dry skin turn into cradle cap?

My DS has had very dry peely skin on his head for at least a few weeks - it doesn't seem to be getting better...

Is it turning into cradle cap?  Either way , how can i get rid of it?

    rub vaseline on it and use your fingernails to gently scrub it away. If it gets to his scalp you can do the same or use an infant brush

    Pedi recommended hydrocortizone cream, worked like a charm. DS was scratching at it and making it worse.

    Ditto previous posters.  Also my pediatrician said to use dandrum shampoo and scrub his head and let it sit for a couple of minutes before rinsing.  Make sure you keep it away from the eyes.
