How to use Craigslist..Help Please!

So I use craigslist all the time in my area and pay people in person or sell things in person. How would you buy something from another state? There is a lady in South Carolina that has my formula for sale and has agreed to my price. How do I buy it and pay for it? I don't want to just send her money because then how will I know that I will get the formula? I know she doesn't want to just send it to me and trust that she will get paid? Even if I did paypal it still wouldn't insure that I would get the formula once she was paid? How do I even know it is legitimate? Sorry for all the bad spelling. Thanks

You don't know it's legit. I always stick to buying/selling things locally.

Honestly, I wouldn't do it.  You have no idea if it is legit.  And for some reason I thought that PayPal only guarantees the money back if you use ebay, although I could be wrong on that.

I always use PayPal when doing Craigstlist transactions with people from other states.  I may be wrong, but I thought PayPal insured transactions that were up to a certain dollar value.  Good Luck!
