Our pedi thinks Natalie has a dairy allergy. She is having me go on a dairy free diet for two weeks to test it out.
For those with babies with dairy allergies ... how did you know that's what it was? How fast did you notice a change once you stopped eating dairy? Any other tips/advice on what foods you were able to eat (soy milk or butter? etc)?
I feel horrible that her pain/discomfort could be a result of what I have been eating - I really hope this is the solution, I want my baby to feel better!!!
Re: Questions about dairy allergy
I'm not breasfeeding but I've had to change DD formula twice already. First Enfamil she was pooping after every single feeding. Switched to Gentlease and she was gassy as hell. I've switched to Lactofree today and will give it a couple of days to see how it goes.
I hate seeing her so uncomfortable !
I have been dairy free since DD was 6 weeks old. It took probably a good 2-3 weeks before I finally saw a difference. I decided to eliminate all dairy because she was so miserable and her poop was mucousy.
I found these websites helpful:

I cut out all dairy, not just the obvious dairy. It really wasn't as hard as I thought. Good luck!
Blood in stool (not visible, but was there), major body cramping and crying.
We FF and when we got to the rx formula, voila. perfecto!:)
