I've done Clomid 3x with no monitoring - 2x by my OB/GYN, and once with my RE during the clomid challenge (there was bloodwork done on CD3 & 10, but no u/s.)
Monitoring is probably the safest course, since you can overproduce follicles and end up with multiples. However, not all doctors do it. I was a bit uneasy with it, and was somewhat surprised that the RE didn't require it either. On the other hand, going in multiple times during your cycle is a hassle. If your dr. monitored you this cycle, they may want to again.
(not sure how helpful this is, b/c I didn't really answer your question - it depends!!) Good luck!

IMO, you should have monitoring, even if it's a PITA. Many people are unmonitored with no issues, but you don't want to be in the minority who have s/e's that can be monitored and treated.

It depends on the dr.
