outgrowing infant car seat @ 2months?

is this possible? we have the baby trend flex loc carseat and it seems that the straps won't get any longer to fit around my son weighing ~12lbs. i was talking to another new mom of a 4month old who said her son had already outgrown his infant carseat too...

I'm curious about the responses. I have the same one, and it's still fitting my ~12 lb 7 week old well. I had to loosen the straps today. I hope he doesn't grow out of it too soon...

12 lbs is awfully low to be outgrowing the bucket seat. Are you sure the straps aren't twisted someone under the seat, preventing them from loosening?

My 15 pounder fits just fine in our Baby Trend Flex Loc...  You really have to pull on the straps hard to loosen them.  I really wish I had picked a different infant seat.  This one is such a PITA.  I hate the bottom buckle.  Do you have trouble holding it together and snapping it in with DC's legs flailing??

ds grew out of his snugride at 11.5 weeks.  it says it goes to 22 pounds but he was 16 pounds at the time and it definitely wasnt a case of twisted straps - i checked twice - i couldnt believe it!

my friend's baby was 18 lbs at 4 months and at 7 months he still fits

yes, i totally hate the bottom buckle. ((things to keep in mind when shopping for carseats)) i wish i had known better...
