Big U/S this week...and DH can't come! & POLL

I'm so bummed. We've both been looking forward to this ever since the bfp! DH asked for the day off from work and his foreman said it would look bad if he took the day off because of a deadline coming up and they need to finish this job. (DH is an electrician) So then DH asked if he could just be gone for 2 hours so he could at least come with to the U/S and then go back to work and his foreman didn't like that either. And the kicker is that DH is working right across the street from where my perinatologist office is! Ugh...

Maybe you could do a little something to make him feel more a part of things?
Were you planning to find out gender?
If so - what about having the u/sographer not tell you but instead write it down and seal it in an envelope.
Then you can open it together over a special celebratory dinner?
I'm sure he's very upset he can't make it.

Yea, we were planning on finding out the gender. I think he's taking it harder than me though, because he really, really wanted to be there and see the baby moving around on the u/s again. I just wish there was a way to record the ultrasound, but our camera doesn't take video on it and we don't have a video camera. I'm going to try calling the clinic today to see how late in the day that they do the ultrasounds.

Oh, that sucks! What a mean foreman! I like Howleyshell's suggestion.
My DH did come, but he was only allowed in the room for a few minutes at the end. He was stuck in the waiting room for most of it. (I'm not sure why... he was allowed in for the entire heartbeat u/s at 7w, and if he'd been able to come to the NT scan he would have been in the room for all of it. Different offices, different rules, I guess.)
That sucks, I hope something works out and he will be able to go!
We didn't think that DH was going to be able to make it to ours either (luckily it worked out in the end). Like pp said, I had planned on having them write down the gender and stick it in an envelope so that we could still find out together.

Such a bummer! Can you reschedule the u/s for a day or time that works better for DH? Maybe have him talk it over with his foreman about how this is a really big deal for him and he wants to be there and it will only be for a short period of time that he'll be gone?
