any suggestions for where i could find a web site where a momma might be selling some or all of her CD stash for a reasonable price? i really want to get into this, but DH isn't a fan of the idea, so i don't want to spend too much up front.
Ditto the pp, although depending on your area, there may be more options on diaperswappers. Our CL hardly has any CD posts There's TONS of stuff on diaperswappers though, so you should be able to find something.

What kind of dipes are you looking to try out?
i think anything but prefolds. i'm not really sure. i still have all of those emails i forwarded you before. what do you like to use?
We use a combination of pfs and pockets, mostly. I also have some fitteds that I've been using more and more (Goodmamas and one Mutt) I have one Thirsties AIO that I like, but I keep it in the diaper bag.
I love my OS pockets; I have Blueberries (love the snaps and hemp, so soft), KCKs (excellent quality and extra strong aplix), BGs and Haute Pockets (the trimmest pocket I own; love these)
I really do like my pfs as my backup diaper. They're easy to care for, super absorbant and cheap
I know. I remember the feeling well After nearly 4 months though, I feel like an old pro Definitely stick around on this board. Everyone is SO helpful. I would have been lost without them.
okay, so prefolds are the ones that i can buy in bulk at BRU, right? i have like, 30 of them, we use them as burp cloths... i would just need covers for those, right?
That's the right idea, but people say they don't soak up as well as others, like the ones from

Hmmm, yes, prefolds are basically like the burp cloths you can buy at some stores. I'm not sure what kind your store carries, but I've never heard anything good about burpcloth style pfs though (like Gerber) They're just not absorbant enough.
Ours are from Green Mountain Diapers. They're the unbleached medium browns. From their site, it looks like many kids can wear these until time to PT. I also tried the ones from Jillian's Drawers and personally thought they sucked. I've heard good things about the ones from Little Lions though too. Pfs are really cheap, but they're heavy, which is why they can sometimes cost a lot to ship, so bear that in mind.
Yes, they will need covers. We use Thirsties, which are reasonably cheap and love them. You won't need that many covers b/c you can reuse them as long as they don't have poo on them. Wipe down/air out between uses and then throw a few in the washer on laundry day. We have 3 covers and a dozen pfs. I also have a bunch of fleece soakers to use as covers too though. We got by on the 3 Thirsties for quite awhile though.
You'll probably also want snappis unless you're brave enough for pins I have 2, although you really don't need more than 1 unless you're prone to losing stuff. 2 seemed like a safe number to me.
Ok, I just read what you said more closely and I see that you already have a bunch. If you buy a few covers and some snappis, I'd say it would definitely be worth giving the ones you have a shot. I've used some of ours in a pinch and they worked ok for a short time.
I will tell you one thing I did differently though; I have a bunch of the microfiber towels that I bought from the automotive section at Target. Many girls on here use them as doublers. I bought a dozen for $8.50ish and they really do work well. They're approx. 12x12 and I just trifold and stick in with the pf (just NOT directly against the skin; it'll dry it out, so put it on the other side of the burpcloth/prefold). It'll give you an extra boost of absorbancy. Without that, I doubt DD could have gone an hour in a burpcloth even with a cover. Ours just aren't absorbant enough, period.
Maybe something to consider? They're also great for CDing in general. I use mine daily as doublers in my pockets.
