Pregnancy congestion

WTH!! Why am I still all stuffy?? My OB says it is related to pregnancy, but it isn't going to be like this for 14 more weeks, right? Holy crap! I'm not sick at all anymore, I just can't can't lay down without needing to blow my nose again.

omg yeah.  this has been one of my most insane pgcy "symptoms".  it is SO bad that i go through literally a full box of tissues almost every day.  in addition to congestion so bad that i often can't breathe (esp at night), i have sneezing fits at least twice a day (7-12 sneezes each.)  everyone is always asking me if i'm sick, and i'm not, at all.  it's been like this for a solid few months, and it appears to get worse each week.  love it.

but, like all things pgcy, of course i wouldn't trade it... just might wish it was slightly less obnoxious lol.

I've had bad congestion the entire time so far and it hasn't gotten any better....the OB says it will go away when baby is out.  I've had to sleep with vicks evaporating pads in my room every night. I've also had nose bleeds quite frequently, this is also party of pg.....it sucks

I'm in the same boat. It sucks. I tried breatheright strips to help me sleep (and breathe).  No luck.  Hang in there!!!  Everyone tells me it ends immediately after giving birth.

The congestion is the weirdest symptom.  I'm not quite as bad as some of you have mentioned, but I'm stuffy every morning and blowing out bloody boogers all the time.  Yuck.

I never knew that congestion was a symptom. ?None of my friends or relatives ever talked about this one. ?It is so strange. ?And very annoying. ?

I had a cold for like 9 weeks, but it wasn't just congestion, it was also sore throat, coughing, etc. However, the last week or so I am so congested, and no other symptoms, so I wonder if it's just the pregnancy. It sucks so much-- I can barely eat because I can't chew and breathe at the same time.

Yep, hate to say it, but it will only get worse until you deliver.  Mine was horrible and I was stuffy all of the time.  Once I gave birth - bam - I was fine.  You can try using a neti pot (look for sinucleanse at your local pharmacy) and lots of saline spray.  If it gets too bad, talk to your doc.  There are things you can take if necessary.

Yeah, I kept thinking I'd get better after allergy season was over, but, no, I'm still super congested and have frequent nosebleeds.  I'm constantly leaking some kind of bodily fluid - I get a nice splash of blood every time I floss, too.

I totally forgot about that!  I was SO snotty - here's how my dr explained.  Your body is creating extra lubricant so your joints can more easily move around (push out a baby) so you have extra fluid everywhere, esp. the goop in your nose.
